Founded in St. Petersburg, the Art-Modern Foundation has been a motor of music cultural exchange in between Spain, Latin America, the United States and Russia. A very intense dedicated institution to the music of our days AM launched with one his firsts projects projects: Sovremennoe Proshle (Contemporary Past). The festival that had the goal of programing composers that were not played in Russia for strong political reasons. The project celebrates this June 2010 a XX Century of American Music. Opera Productions have been organized on Opera Incognita St. Petersburg a chamber opera project that made his successful debut with The Letters of Van Gogh at the Hermitage Theatre. AM organizes CD and DVD recordings in Russia with the major orchestras and performers in the famousMelodya Studios. The International Festival Tardes de España (Spanish Evenings) founded by the conductor Alexis Soriano that has been bringing for thirteen years spanish music to the audience of St. Petersburg. The repertoire included a very big number of world and russian premiers and supporting yearly the international diffusion of contemporary composers from Spain. Initially based at the Hermitage Theatre of Hermitage Museum, the festival happens in the most respected halls and theaters of the city with chamber groups, Symphonic and Opera productions. Composers from Spain are yearly invited to their premiers taking the opportunity to teach at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. In 2011 the Foundation is opening a new festival: Festival Pau Casals a St. Petersburg that will have every year a catalan resident composer with the composer Jordi Cervelló for its opening season.
