6th Festival “The Time of Music: fin de siècle»

The St.Petersburg Contemporary Music Center will be hosting the 6thannual International New Music Festival “The Time of Music: Fin de siècle”, which will be held in St.Petersburg in May 2012. The program for the first concert of the festival on May 26 will be held at the Sheremetevskii palace at 7pm. It is entitled “Too far away from the people?!” and will consist of folklore and new music, dealing with paradoxes and parallels. The second concert, held on May 27 at 7pm at the same venue, will be performed by the Molot ensemble, and will consist of French music in a program entitled “France: Three Generations”, including compositions by Roger Tessier and Bruno Mantovani…

“Fin de siècle” Festival

The first festival “The Time of Music: Fin de siècle” came together in the end of June 2007 on the stages of the St. Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory and was presented as a pilot project. The concerts of the festival attracted a wide public and brought out a lively response from the audiences present, confirming the cultural relevance of the festival and necessity to present it as a yearly event…
